We stayed at the Nevsky Central Hotel for 3 nights and were really satisfied. Well equipped rooms incl. shower, daily changed towels, daily cleaning-room service. The staff was very kind and professional, speaking English (what was welcomed and really not common in other public places and city attractions!), nothing was a problem, including luggages storage when we checked-out. Convenient breakfast from 8am - 11 am, appropriate to 3* hotel. Really good hotel at the real centre, I would recomment to somebody who is coming to Petersburg to enjoy city beauties and attractions and use hotel more-less only to sleep overnight. Not for honeymoon or for somebody who expects 5* services.
The only weak point is a not so visible marking from outside of the hotel. Need to read instructions before coming and then search for small board at the respective address. Hotel is located in the 3rd floor of the building. Despite the staircase looks horrible, hotel itself is very nice and clean, equipped by cameras and bell to get in.

Offer owners of the hotel to hang honest pictures on the site! And then the hotel room looks good, but on arrival at the hotel, as the Soviet hostel!

Reasonably central possition
The sex shop in the street entranceto the hotel ,the hotel was on the third floor. I would concider this hotel to be about a two star establishment and grossly overpriced.

Great location and fair price (for Russian standards, where hotels are not cheap). What you need is there: Bed and shower, WiFi, breakfast. A small shop is in the building to buy drinks etc. If you just need a place to sleep in Petersburg city center whithout comfort, spa etc, this is a good place
